FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Five of the Pedro’s Judo Junior Team members competed at the 2007 Am Can International Judo competition in Amherst, NY on May 26-27, 2007. The Am-Cans Judo Tournament is considered the largest and one of the strongest Judo competitions for Juniors in North America. The small Pedro's squad brought home four trophies. Ricky Pedro (7 years old) turned in impressive performance going 4-0 in a 15-person pool to win the first place trophy in the boys 6-8 years old division. Casey Pedro (10 years old) went 2-0, and AJ Pedro (9 years old) went 3-0 to win another two first place trophies in their respective divisions. Meghan Arena (12 years old) added a Second Place, going 2-1 for the day. Kevin Childs (8 years old), in his first major competition, went 2-2, gaining valuable experience. The next events for the team will be the Summer Slam Tournament in Patterson, NJ on June 10, Pedro's Judo Training Camp on June 25-29, and the USJA Junior National Championships in Indianapolis on July 6-8.
