March 24, 2007 - Miami, FL - Chris Round (Team FORCE) was the only member of Pedro's Judo Center who took the trip to Miami to compete in the HS National Judo Championships held at Florida International University’s Pharmed Arena this past Saturday. Chris, a Senior in North Andover High School, finished third place in the 81kg division.

Chris started the day off with a first round loss to Ajax Tadehara (ID), but came back through the losers' bracket to beat opponents from Texas and NY. He then faced Tadehara again, but this time Chris ended up on the winning side by countering Tadehara for a waza-ari. In the Bronze medal match Chris beat Jeremy Mathis from GA throwing Mathis for two waza-aris with sumi gaeshi.

This was the best result in Chris Round’s competitive career, who continues to work hard and show improvement every time he steps on the mat.

The final Results of the 81kg division:

Men’s 81kg
1. Wesley Thomas (San Mateo, Calif. / Aragon High School)
2. Antonio Rodriguez (Pembroke Pines, Fla. / Archbishop McCorthay)
