Pedro's Judo Club members brought home 31 medals including 11 Gold from the Ocean State International Judo Tournament in RI, October 28-29.

West Warwick, RI: On Saturday and Sunday, October 28 - 29, 2006 the Ocean State International Judo Tournament was hosted by Mayo Quanchi Judo Club in West Warwick, RI. The event had over 400 competitors from around the country and Pedro's Judo Center members from Wakefield, MA claimed 11 gold medals, while 25 team members in all took home medals from the event. An exceptional performance was turned in by Dante Vinciarelli of Lynn, MA who competed in three divisions, winning two gold and one silver medals. 12 year old Dante won his own division, moved up in weight class to claim a second gold and moved up in age the following day to win a silver medal. Another notable performance was turned in by AJ Pedro of Methuen, MA (son of 4 -Time Olympian Jimmy Pedro) who won two gold medals, winning his own division and moving up in weight to win another gold. “Our team continues to get bigger and better every year, “commented Jimmy Pedro, head coach at Pedro’s Judo. “In a few years and with continued commitment and development, I have no doubt that our team will become the most dominant team in the nation.”
