	July 17, 2007 - Indianapolis, IN & Ypsilanti, MI: Over the course of the past two weekends, students from Pedro’s Judo Center in Wakefield, MA competed in two separate national judo championships - the United States Judo Association (USJA) nationals held at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 7 - 8th and the United States Judo Federation (USJF) nationals held at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI on July 14 – 15th. 	February 21, 2007 - Wakefield, MA - A total of 421 athletes competed at the 4th annual Pedro’s Judo Challenge held in Wakefield, MA on February 17, 2007. In its first year as an official US Judo Elite point event, the tournament drew national and international competitors from Canada, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, and some of the best US judo programs, including Olympic athletes and World team members. 	December 3, 2006 - Patterson, NJ – A team of Junior and Senior competitors from Pedro’s Judo Center of Wakefield, MA dominated the Northeastern Invitational Judo Championships hosted by the Camal Judo Club in Patterson, NJ, on December 3^rd, 2006. The Pedro’s team hauled in 18 medals, 11 of them gold, and took home 3 of the Special Awards: Team FORCE member Rick Hawn of Wakefield, MA was named the Outstanding Senior competitor for his Gold medal performance at 81kg. Mike Procopio of Andover, MA took the Gold medal at 90kg and received the Best Technique award for Senior competitors. 	July 24, 2006 - Pedro's Judo Center members completed a successful trip to Florida claiming 25 medals including 14 Gold in the USJA Jr. National Championships held in Boca Raton, July 15 – 16 and the USJF Jr. National Championship held in Ft. Lauderdale, July 20 – 21. Five members of the team won Gold medals in both the USJA and the USJF championships. This outstanding achievement makes them Double Crown Winners. In addition, in the 2006 meeting of the USJA Board of Directors held on July 14 in Boca Raton it was decided that Pedro's Judo Center won the bid to host the 2008 USJA Junior Nationals. 	June 26, 2006 - USA Judo Elite U-23 Team Camp to be Held in Massachusetts A training camp will be held for members of the USA Judo Elite U-23 Team at Pedro’s Judo Center, Aug. 20-26 in Wakefield, Mass. The camp is sponsored as part of a collaborative effort between USA Judo and Pedro’s Judo Center. The camp will be run by O'Sensei Jimmy Pedro, head coach of the USA Judo U-23 Team and Pedro's Judo Center. Athletes will arrive on the evening of Aug. 20 and depart on the morning of Aug. 26. The daily training schedule will include a morning running and conditioning session, followed by a two-hour judo practice. Afternoons will include strength and conditioning clinics and judo technical sessions. Each day will conclude with an evening randori session. For more information click here...
	June 3, 2006 - The newest member of Team Force, Rick Hawn of Pedro’s Judo Center (Wakefield, MA) went 4-1 and finished with a Silver Medal in the 81kg division at the Tre Torri International Judo competition in Sant El’Pidio, Italy. 	February 18, 2006 - Pedro's Judo Center hosted the biggest tournament ever in New England. A total of 390 competitors competed at the 2006 Pedro’s Judo Challenge held in Wakefield, MA on February 18, 2006. Each Black Belt division winner was awarded $250 in prize money thanks to a major sponsorship by the Zebra Mats. As a result, the level of competition was very high at the event, including 2004 Olympian Rick Hawn, former Brazilian national team member Anderson Leal, and elite juniors Nick Delpopolo, Yuko Sin, and Gary and Harry St. Leger. The facility combines modern functional strength training equipment with traditional exercise equipment to provide the ideal training center for all. 	December 16, 2005 - over 200 members of the community and students of Pedro’s Dojo gathered at Pedro’s Judo Center in Wakefield, MA for the first-ever Black Belt Extravaganza and awards night.
